Hankley Common may be the most natural heathland course in the world, given the sheer scale of heather and open common it covers. It is a superb golf course and deserves a place in any conversation about the best inland golf in England.
Being a little further from London than Sunningdale and Walton Heath has kept Hankley slightly under the radar over the years, but golfers increasingly talk about this serious and beautiful test as one of the very finest. At 6,932 yards and par 71, it asks for every club in the bag.
Hankley Common is a highlight of our Heathland Heaven and Surrey & Hampshire Heathland Golf Tour itineraries, alongside Hindhead, Blackmoor and Liphook.
Course: 18-hole heathland. Address: The Clubhouse, Tilford, Farnham, Surrey GU10 2DD
